This product line is very good,I think it’s the best Ajax’s framework. I try it a little time. now I have some advise for you.
1. The servlet or php must be wirtten for loadxml,but the xml is Slightly complex to users, You can develop serverside framework for dthmlxObject. now I write some servlet base class for myself.
2. I usually use splitwindow, I have some code,but i have used window.setIntval so I am very dissatisfied with them.Can you try to write one ?

Yes it may be usefull to have ready to use server side solutions, and we are working in such direction, but in real situation the data generaton may use complex rules, so it kind of impossible to create a universal solution.

The oncoming version of dhtlmx suite will include layout component, which allow to combine exting components and external HTML elements in resizable layouts - is it functionality which you need?
The Layout component of oncoming release will be able to cover the same functionality.
