Adding calendar control to Filter Text

I am trying to add filter in the header when we enable our filters. Looking at the following documentation I couldn’t find a way:
docs.dhtmlx.com/grid__filtering.html

Could you please suggest a way to do it? We want to pop up the calendar control instead of typing the date as string or using #select_filter.
