Are slider images obsolete?

An example or two I downloaded allowed using images for the image slider knob and bar but they referenced in obscure fashion a directory that contained a skin folder and then needed a name of a given skin. That old example used both a dhtmlxcommon.js and a dhtmlxslider.js import, and also separate .css files for a couple of themes but not the blue one.

UGH.

Can I still just include the normal dhtmlx.js import and also then specify images for a slider control knob?
