attachEvent onClick at Layout

Hi,

I need to deselect a treeselection on a click outside of the Tree. The Tree is attached to a layout, so i thought about firing the deselection on an onClick event at the layout. But there is no such event at layout. Any ideas or workarounds would be very appreciated!
