Change data in grid2, depending on selected row in grid1

Hi,

I have two grids, the first one is showing correct, but the second one isn’t…
When I click a row in the first grid, the second one needs to change, depending on what row is clicked in the first one.

I use this function:

mygrid.attachEvent(“onRowSelect”,doOnRowSelected);

So I suppose the doOnRowSelected function needs to trigger the second grid?
How to make this work? The data in the mysql-db that needs to be displayed is depending on the selection…

doOnRowSelected() function may look like that:

function doOnRowSelected(id){ grid2.clearAll(); grid2.load(url+"?rows="id); }

Hi Olga,

In my case, I want to open a page in an iFrame with a specific identity such as ContactID which is retrieved from database rather than row id in a grid. How can I convert a row “id” into a ContactID in order to get contact information by ContactID?

any suggestion? thanks in advance.

You may change the id of the row using the changeRowId method:

Thanks, Sematick. Just read your reply, it is very helpful - an easy and practical way.
I have sorted out my problem with a hidden column (ContactID) that I can cite to construct an URL to be opened when clicking a row.
