I tried adding a custom field as suggested here to create a link within an event:

now, my site is dead.

In the worst case it can break event’s rendering , but I don’t see any way how it can crash whole site, really. JS code is isolated from the other code and can’t do harm for html markup.
If issue is still actual - please PM the url , where problem can be checked.
in fact it did.
apparently, it created some kind of a problem within the site database.
I was able to restore to an earlier time and get almost everything back.
