If you mean fully custom form - it is not so simple
In such case you need to create your own GUI for recurrence selection and based on it , you will need to set 2 properties of event - rec_type and event_length. Also end_date of event need to be set on the date, after last recurring event occurrence

Need to say, I don’t known any implementation which uses custom form and recurrence logic in the same time.
