How to vertically align the content of the grid ?

setColVAlign is mapped to valign property of related cell and can be used in same way
Also, you can use cell@style or cell@class attribute in XML and assign any necessary styles to the cell.
The situation on screenshoot is not a bug - it is normal HTML behavior, when container, with valign defined, contains an image and text
