I noticed that the height of an event sometime varies greatly, and that sometimes event that are for a shorter time span (say 30 minutes) end up being taller that events that have a shorter time span(say 15 minutes). Is there anyway to make the events render in a more consistent manor?
The height of event must be proportional to occupied timespan, but not lesser than 25px ( this rule is applied to show at least sinle line of text per event )
So while its really possible that very short events look unproportional, there is no way that shorter event will be rendered bigger than longer one.
If you have a lot of short events - you can increase size of time-scale.
