getting started

I am trying to “Get Started” using dhxmlx.

I do not seem to be able to follow the examples in the Documentation.

Specifically I think that I am having two problems.

1) The code examples all seem to assume segments that are not explicitly there.

2) Many (but not all) of the code examples do not cut and paste well. When I paste them they do not have new lines.



Does anyone have a full, top to bottom, example of a tree that I can start with?

Please, have a look at the following example in the tree package :


dhtmlxTree/samples/initialization_general_settings/tree_init_xml.html


This sample demonstrates basic intialization.


It is more effective to view the source code of the samples - so, you can see all included tree libraries.

Thank you very much for your reply. That example is just what I was looking for.

It does contain on reference that is still a problem. The file referenced as:

does not seem to be in the .zip that I downloaded.

Can you send me docs/products/dhtmlxTree/index.shtm ?

I was able to get a copy of the file using wget, but that still does not make things work completely.
Can you tell me the name of the xml data file and where it needs to be?
