this should be a very standard feature but it seems we cannot make this happen. Does anyone know how I can have a read only “text box, label…” control of some kind that will allow our users to select text and copy it but not edit it?

Unfortunately, there is not possibility to enable copy/paste for some views. Some library features require touchstart event to be blocked for native event handing.
