how to set size of text file in header of the grid

Hi,
I created a grid with 4 columns.
I induced a text fileter in second column(varGrid.attachHeader(",#text_filter,")).
The text filter text box came below the second column whose length is same as column.
My requirement is to set the size of the text filter to only half of the column.
Is this requirement can be full filled ?

You can get object of the filter input in the column with following code:

var filter=grid.getFilterElement(column_index)

Now you can use JavaScript api to change width of this input.
