Is there a tutorial on how to implement an eXcell?

I’m looking for a tutorial that goes beyond your “Creating editable eXcells” article. Sorry for the remedial question but once I have my event handlers setup for a button, for example (similar to your code snippet in that article). How do I attach the button to a cell in my code? What does the javascript look like? Can I do it from the client side only? Thanks.
