I’ve recently been asked to modify dhtmlxscheduler_recurring.js to allow for multiple recurrence types per event, but only in the seasonal rec_type that I’ve created with help from the DHTMLX team here http://forum.dhtmlx.com/viewtopic.php?t=30132.
The idea is that once one rec_type doesn’t match it should go through the list of “other_seasons” rec_types that are stored alongside the event to see if an event can be created using one of those. The field is in the following format:
seasonal_3_2,3,4__1#no&seasonal_3_10,8,9__1#no&seasonal_2_0,1,11__1#no
I ended up getting it to roughly cycle between the rec_types (however it only works in week view) by modifying my check_valid_month function and the scheduler.transpose_type. Here is a copy of my dhtmlxscheduler_recurring.js file at the moment

- The event date is first calculated before the recurrence type is changed to one that could be valid. Which impacts on navigating around the calendar
- I’ve had to modify all the calls to the transpose_type and the .date[] functions to allow for the additional event variable to be passed but for some reason now any event that isn’t of seasonal rec_type can no longer be opened. The js error I get is that b is undefined (line 215) at the start of scheduler.showLightbox the line after being declared so: b._end_date=b.end_date;.
- After you open and close an event of seasonal rec_type the event vanishes from the scheduler until it is refreshed.
- New events can only be made if a seasonal event was first opened.
- Year view doesn’t cycle through the different recurrence types at all, it only uses the default (not a huge problem I can just remove this view if everything else works).
- Month view struggles a bit with the change over months as well for when an event lands on the last or first few days of the next month and is (or at least meant to be in some cases) visible.
I guess what I’m asking for help with is at the moment is, where is the earliest point I should be looking at placing my code to overwrite the default rec_type if it’s not valid for that month? And why is b undefined when editing any other rec_type event (i.e. day, week, month, year), b is defined the line before to equal scheduler.getEvent(a), with a being the original variable passed to the getLightbox function call?
