Node Copy does not Copy Custom Attributes

I am using the dhtmlxTree control with a custom attribute called “Type” to determine which context menu to display. When I copy a node on the tree using the enableMercyDrag(1) function, the “type” attribute is not copied with the node.

I know I can manually setAttribute. This becomes very cumbersome when the copied node has several levels of children.

Any ideas?
