Is there a way to Automatically Number Rows in the Grid, much like Excel, where as the numbers are larger the column would widen as you scroll. I do not want to have a wide column to accomodate six digit+ numbers, when some datasets may only contain three digit numbers.

Try to use “cntr” eXcell type. Please check example here dhtmlx.com/docs/products/dht … _cntr.html

Thanks so much for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not think this will solve my issue: the example you refer to uses a horizontal scrollbar for number rows in grid. so when larger number will appear you will have to scroll that bar to see the number, we want the number row to widen dynamically for larger numbers. So our problem is a little different and that’s why it’s not working for me. My colleague is working on a solution. If it works I will post it.

Any other ideas are welcome.

You can increase first column width so large number will be visible
