I wanted to build in a checkbox to my lightbox to allow the event to run on a weekend, or disable it from running on a weekend. Is this possible?

You can add custom “checkbox” to the lightbox without problems, but I’m not sure about other logic - technically it possible to attach custom code to the saving process and alter event’s time or something similar.

Sorry if I was vague, too clarify I meant a checkbox too prevent it from rendering too the grid on the weekend if the checkbox is checked and not if it isn’t (And hopefully that could be applied to holidays too?) or something along those lines, or if that functionality is not yet possible?

You can use recurring events, which can be configured to be repeated each day, or each working day ( unfortunately it will be much more complex that a single checkbox )
As for simple “skip specific date” functionality - so far we have not anything similar.
