The DataView's template,was always called

Hi,I used DataView’s template.When the DataView was create,the ‘template’ function was callde 1 time.But when the item in the DataView,was clicked( chosed), the ‘template’ function was called 2 times.
So,Whenever I clicked the item,the ‘template’ function was called 2 times?
That’s right?Why?
