Use grid on iPad

Hi I’m currently using Ver 3.0 of the suite. I have a grid with various columns which have context menus attached which are activated by ‘right-click’ on the mouse.

Recently my client tried to use the software using a Apple iPad, which doesn’t have the ability to attach a mouse. I have read that if you press and hold on the area that you want to right-click then it will react like a ‘right-click’. However when I try this on the grid nothing happens. Is there something else that I need to do to make this work.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Purvez

Unfortunately the long-press is not supported in dhtmlxGrid.
It is not available to activate the context menu this way.

Thanks for your quick response Sematik.

If I upgrade will I need to create 2 separate versions of my app to allow both mouse click and ‘Touch’ to work correctly or can I include Touch functionality within a single version? Also can you confirm that the ‘long press’ is available on the current Version of your software?

Many thanks

Purvez

I am also interested in this.

The longtouch works successfully on all tested android devices in the chrome browser for launching the context menu on the grid. However, it does not work on apple devices (tested ipad air 2 and a few iphones).

We are using the dhtmlxsuit 5.0

Would be great to have a workaround of some sort.

Could you please, open ticket at the support.dhtmlx.com with the request.

Sorry to revive such an old thread. I’m curious what the current status or popular opinion is regarding inline cell editing in the grid with an IPad. The single click to edit option works but is not ideal as it can be triggered when scrolling which in turn brings up the keyboard interface. This can get bothersome. Any suggestions or popular workarounds for better usability of the grid with inline editing enabled for mobile (IPad in particular)?

Unfortunately the best way for the edit triggering is the single click on touch devices.
